Felting

Once I touched my first bundle of roving in 2018, a magic door of creativity opened. My creativity is blooming during these times of great change in our lives, lending to bright colors and flowing designs intended to uplift the spirits. As a child I watched my Mom, in her sewing room, turn nothing into something. Her accomplishments became a great inspiration in my life. Felting allows me to transform wisps of animal fibers into pieces of art that can be worn to add decadence to one’s wardrobe. I'm mostly self-taught, having learned a great deal online, and as a member of the International Feltmakers Association, while allowing my personal style to surface. My training as a massage therapist has been a wonderful asset in felting. I have developed intuition in my hands that allows me to ‘listen’ to what the materials ‘tell’ me they want to do. My preferred method is ‘wet felting’ with my favorite medium which is Merino Wool. My design focus is in creating scarves which can double as decorative table runners.
