Paper Artistry: Cutting & Quilling Wall Art and Jewelry

As a paper artist, I have been inspired by the ancient art form of Qulling. My art is always evolving making me excited to see what comes next. My work is an expression of happiness which I hope comes across to the viewer .

I grew up surrounded by art. My father, Darcy Efraimson, had a love of paper, and created many art pieces in this medium. It wasn’t until he passed that I discovered my love of paper and what I can create with it. I work with paper, glue, and a rolling tool. My husband made my first quilling tool out of a wine cork and a piece of metal. It worked, and I have been creating with it ever since. Quilling dates back to the origination of paper in China. Artists would use a feather quill to roll paper. I enjoy traditional quilling but find the most joy in creating my own interpretation. I have brought a more artistic and contemporary feel to the art form. Ancient artworks are hard to find due to deterioration of paper, a natural fiber. My work is made with archival paper and framing which will endure the test of time.
