Textiles and Fiber Art
I love the intertwining of fiber and fabric, and how it can be changed or melded into something different. I use dyeing, felting, and different manipulation techniques to change the color and texture of fiber and cloth. I get great pleasure from taking what is plain and making it into wearable art.
I was born in Cheswick, Pennsylvania. I have been working with textiles since I was a child, learning weaving and knitting at a very young age. After a successful career with a communications company that took me to California, Oregon, Colorado, and Montana, I decided to go into textiles and fiber art full time. I owned a retail yarn store in Montana, and recently had my own hand-dyed line of yarns called Sweet Grass Wool and Wolf Creek Wools. I recently moved back to Oregon. My current passions are felting, dyeing, natural dyeing, and imprinting of natural substances on fabric.
