260402 - Throughout this 4-week course you will follow along as we create beautiful paintings step-by-step.  Classes will cover basic watercolor techniques such as color mingling, mixing, glazing, pouring, spattering, and using sponges, etc. This course is designed to introduce new techniques and is suitable for both beginners snd those looking to expand their skills.  By the end of the course, you will have created beautiful watercolor paintings and gained confidence in a variety of techniques.

Learn a new transfer technique for painting the dark and light leaf patterns.  With wet into wet dots of color, paint the soft impression of flower shapes.  Create fabulous textures with a variety of salts for a wonderful background. 260413 - Continued Drawing Skills - During this 5-week continuing workshop, learn more about the basics of drawing using graphite to render sketches, draw landscapes, architecture and the basics of perspective.  Lots of tips on proper tools.  This class is best for beginners to intermediate level.  Some drawing experience is helpful.

260417 - Using re-purposed fabric scraps, beads, fancy stitching and more you will create a fashion statement cuff bracelet and/or pin.  Dazzle your friends and family with your new ornament!  Instructor will provide fabric, buttons & ribbon.  Students should bring scissors, needles and a selection of floss (and/or pearl cotton) in colors of your choice.  If you wish to incorporate found objects, beads etc., please bring them as well.

260530 - Ready for a virtual vacation?  Join us to create coral reef-inspired Fantasy Seascapes.  Choose bright colors or spectral whimsy to create a fiber wallhanging.  We will be combining applique of a variety of fabrics, specialty yarns, stitchery and beading. This class is open to all levels of students, but some basic hand sewing skills will make the class more rewarding.  Materials will be provided by the instructor.  Please remember to bring your own scissors.

260722 - Picnic covers are weighted fabric cloths used to cover food.  These wil be cross-stitched on checked gingham.  Students should bring 1 yard of their choice of gingham (1/4 in. squares or larger), as well as #8 pearl cotton.  Students can choose to use only white pearl cotton for stitching, or use two or more colors.   Students should also bring a 4 inch or larger embroidery hoop and scissors.  Instructor will provide patterns, material for corner pockets and weights.  This is a great class for beginners.

 <>  If you are interested in teaching a class or renting the Back Door Studio, contact the gallery today.

<>  It is very important to include your Phone Number at checkout.  It may be necessary for the gallery to contact you if there's a change in the class schedule.

<>  CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
  • If a student withdraws from a class more than 1 week before the class begins, a refund, less a processing fee equal to 20% of the class cost, will be paid.
  • NO REFUND will be paid if the student withdraws 1 week or less before the class begins.
  • In the event that Currents Gallery cancels a class, the Gallery will mail a full refund to the student.
