Living through this historical time of change, I look for something each day to be grateful for. Nature is my inspiration for painting, journaling and sketching. Whether in the studio or on site, painting nature takes me to a place of wonder and enlightenment. I am thrilled and honored to be able to share my journey of discovery as I continue to explore new places and new techniques with soft pastels.
I am a Salem, Oregon artist who grew up in Silverton. I am now retired but in my earlier years, while busy with family, I taught quilting classes and worked in local fabric stores. I have sought out art education and studied with several professional pastel artists that I have admired. I enjoy exploring our Willamette Valley through sketching and journaling nature, and painting landscapes. I am a member of Pastel Artists of Oregon, Northwest Pastel Society, and Salem Art Association. I have my work in public and private collections and have received numerous awards. I have been honored to have my pastel painting, “New Opportunities”, accepted into the first Spirit of Pastel 2020 Virtual International Exhibition.
