Creating mosaic jewelry has served as a metaphor for living a satisfying, balanced and harmonious life. To live this way, it is important to explore the elements that work and fit together, discard or transform what doesn’t, and keep going deeper, ever changing, and discovering. I am deeply moved by the transformation, connection and magic that occurs when disparate pieces are brought together to form an integrated whole.
I create mosaic jewelry with imported Moroccan mini tiles, my own fused glass pieces, and found objects such as old buttons and charms. I like to work small and think of my jewelry as portable and wearable art.
I currently serve as an organizational leader for the Fire and Light Glass Guild which is part of The Arts Center in Corvallis, Oregon. I also am a member of the Artists’ Studio Association in Lincoln City, and served as Mosaic Guild Liaison with the Board. In 2018, I became a Member-At-Large with the ASA Board working on special projects. Finally, I have been a member of the Oregon Glass Guild for over 10 years. It is my hope that my artistic creations telegraph and inspire that sense of depth, harmony, and balance.
