I grew up in Salem, Oregon. After receiving a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Oregon, I stayed connected to the visual arts community by working or volunteering at various non-profit art organizations in Oregon, Hawaii and California. From 1994 – 2020, I co-owned and operated Art Department. Having recently sold it, I now have the opportunity to concentrate more on my own art. I work in a variety of mediums including acrylic, collage, watercolor, gouache, ink and dry media. My work ranges from non-representational art to abstracted landscapes, to more realistic subject matter. I am one of the founders of a monthly sketching group, Salem Sketchers and teach classes in how to sketch for fun with confidence. My work is in private collections and has been selected for numerous projects and exhibits including Community Supported Arts&Culture, and The Collaborative Body: Here and Now.
Paintings in Multiple Media
My husband and I owned Salem’s fine art supply store, Art Department, for 26 years. We recently sold it and retired. It has been the most fun and rewarding business to run. We loved coming to work each day and helping artists find the right materials for their creative endeavors.
